DFDS will close Scotland - Norway route Last ferry on 01.09.2008

DFDS Seaways announced the closing of the loss-making route between Bergen-Haugesund-Stavanger (N) and Newcastle (Scotland) on 1 September 2008 although services will remain unchanged during the summer season. The reasons for disappointing development are increasing oil prices, over capacity in the travel market and the economic slowdown. DFDS took over the ferry services to Norway from Fjord Line in 2006.
