Scandlines ferry network changes
Travemünde (D) - Ventspils (LV) in January
The German-Danish Scandlines Group further strengthens its freight-based route network to the Baltic States. As of January 20, 2010 the company offers a new combined freight / passenger service from Travemünde (Germany) to Ventspils (Latvia) with initially two weekly departures per direction.
Scandlines operates its new service with the RoPax-vessel "Urd" offering a capacity for 186 passengers as well as 1,598 lane metres for freight. The new service will be improved with a second RoPax-vessel as soon as appropriate tonnage is available.
Whereas Scandlines opens this new route, the former route Rostock - Ventspils will be closed down.
