New ferry line from Italy to Syria and Egypt
New route will close market gap
The new founded ferry operator Visemar Line will launche a new ro/pax ferry service connecting Venice with Tartous, Syria and Alexandria, Egypt that allow off road transport as well as, passengers and cars. This will be a weekly service that will begin May 20 using the Mv Visemar One, a new vessel built by the Visentini yard which can sail at 24 knots carrying up to 200 lorries, 80 cars and up to 360 passengers. The service is being launched by Venetian groups Visentini and Tositti, co-owners of Visemar Line, under the EU shortsea shipping initiative Motorways of the Sea.
Camping on board is not possible, as well as is not possible to offer the Pullman seats for this voyage. Sailing duration from Italy to Syria is 68 hours, to Egypt 88 hours.
