Naviera Armas expands services again

New ferry Canary Isl. - Laayoune/W-Sahara

Naviera Armas launched a new ferry service from Las Palmas/Gran Canaria to Laayoune, Western Sahara. The new ferry service with the vessel Volcán de Tejeda has already started 20th June with a weekly departure in each direction. The sailing duration is about 8 hours.
This is the second attempt to establish a direct ferry link to nearby African shore. The first attempt was in the year 2008 to Tarfaya in Morocco and ended with the sinking of the ferry in front of the harbour.
