Black Sea ferries along the Russian coast. The 2014 Olympic Games are coming!

New ferry services are being launched in the run-up to the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi. In addition to Olympia Lines (Sochi-Trabzon) Vodohod has introduced high speed ferry routes along the Russian coast line. Since beginning June 2011 the catamaran 'Sochi 1' makes daily trips from Sochi westbound to Tuapse, while the catamaran 'Sochi 2' runs daily on the eastbound route Sochi - Gagra (Abkhazia) in Georgia near the russian border. It takes just 1.5 hours to get to Gagra and about 5 hours to Tuapse. The journey time fies by as each boat is equipped with air conditioning, comfortable seating and a bar. The fare on 'Sochi 1' to Tuapse is only 600 rubles, and for only 500 roubles one can travel on 'Sochi 2' to Gagra.
