Stena Line to close Fleetwood - Larne. Restructure of Irish Sea routes in 2011

The Fleetwood - Larne route ceased operation on 24 December 2010. Ferry giant Stena Line has announced that following an agreement with DFDS to acquire their Liverpool Belfast and Heysham Belfast ferry routes (ferrylines.com will inform you very soon) they will be closing their service between Fleetwood and Larne. Stena Line commented that 'Since the commencement of the recession and in spite of our best endeavours, the Fleetwood – Larne ferry route has continued to trade with losses and the decision has therefore been taken that it will close at the end of this year. However, Stena Line have four other routes available to choose within the Irish Sea: Fishguard - Rosslare, Holyhead - Dublin, Holyhead - Dun Laoghaire and Stranraer - Belfast.
