Comarit/Comanav ferry company reduces operations
Morocco’s Comarit/Comanav ferry company has drastically reduced operations by laying up of 11 ships in Spanish, French and Moroccan ports. Over 100 Moroccan seafarers on four vessels are facing shortages of food, fuel and pay in the port of Algeciras, Spain. The company is known to be still functioning short of bankruptcy. Some 1800 ship and shore staff are affected.
Although Comarit stills operates the Tarifa - Tanger route, ferrylines.com recommends to book alternative operators to Morocco, i.e. FRS Iberia, Acciona Trasmediterranea or Balearia from Spain and Grandi Navi Velocci or Grimaldi Lines from Italy.
