In the past two years, ENM Ferries has operated a ferry chartered by Naviera Armas from Portugal to Madeira and on to the Canary Islands. However, after suffering huge losses, the ENM Ferries of Grupo Sousa will no longer offer the ferry connection between Portimão on the mainland and Madeira in 2020.
