Siremar sold, Ustica Lines becomes Liberty Lines

In April 2016 the shipping company Siremar was acquired by Società Navigazione Siciliana Spa (SNS), a joint venture owned by the Italian shipping companies Ustica Lines and Caronte&Tourist, which confirmed the maintenance of services by Siremar. The services of Siremar will be split in the future as follows: Siremar ferries will be run by Caronte & Tourist, while Siremar high speed vessels/hydrofoils will be managed by Ustica Lines, which will be called Liberty Lines. They announced to open new routes between the ports of Puglia region and Greece.
