Naviera Armas extends its ferry services.
Naviera Armas has extended its ferry service on the Canary Islands:
- Since October 2017 Naviera Armas has launched an additional ferry service to Valle Gran Rey (La Gomera), starting from Los Cristianos (Tenerife) and San Sebastian de La Gomera. There are two daily departures in each direction. Naviera Armas offers this service after competitor Fred. Olsen has been heading for these destinations on La Gomera since summer
- In January 2018 Naviera Armas will launch a fast ferry service between the capitals Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) and Santa Cruz de Tenerife in addition to their existing car ferries. The sailing duration will shorten to 1.8 hours. Together, 3-5 departures are offered daily in each direction.
The deal of the year 2017 had been announced in October: Family-controlled Naviera Armas will take over competitor Trasmediterranea, Spain's premier ferry operator in which it already held a minority stake following the company's 2002 privatisation.
