How FerryLines follows the network
Ferry networks are not static. Routes can open, close or become seasonal, operators can change their services, vessels move between routes and ports can gain or lose connections.
FerryLines therefore combines permanent knowledge pages with current news. Region, route, port and operator profiles explain the network itself, while news provides the freshness layer when something materially changes.
Route-sensitive pages distinguish between active passenger services, vehicle services, freight-only routes, seasonal services, proposed routes, suspended services and historic connections. A freight ferry is not presented as an ordinary passenger service unless passenger access can be confirmed.
