Turku-Stockholm ferries
Turku-Stockholm is the main international passenger ferry corridor from Turku.
Both Tallink Silja Line and Viking Line operate through Åland, with intermediate calls varying between Mariehamn and Långnäs according to the sailing.
The route carries foot passengers, vehicles and commercial freight and operates throughout the year.
Tallink Silja Line at Turku
Tallink Silja Line currently operates Baltic Princess between Turku, Åland and Stockholm.
From 3 September to 31 December 2026, the published timetable shows daily evening departures from Turku towards Långnäs and Stockholm.
Baltic Princess currently uses berth S2 at Turku’s passenger harbour.
Viking Line at Turku
Viking Line operates the Turku-Åland-Stockholm corridor with Viking Grace and Viking Glory.
The route includes daytime and overnight departures and provides both passenger and freight capacity.
Viking Line remains one of the two principal passenger ferry companies operating from Turku.
Åland connections
Åland is an essential part of the Turku ferry network.
Services towards Stockholm call at Mariehamn or Långnäs depending on the vessel and timetable.
These calls allow passengers and vehicles to travel directly between Turku and Åland as well as continuing onwards to Sweden.
Ferry Terminal Turku
Turku’s passenger harbour is undergoing a major redevelopment.
The Ferry Terminal Turku project will create a new joint passenger terminal for Tallink Silja Line and Viking Line, replacing the operators’ separate existing terminal buildings.
The new terminal is expected to enter use in 2027.
The wider project includes new and refurbished berths, traffic areas and passenger infrastructure and continues in stages through 2028.
New S1 ferry berth
A major new ferry berth, S1, was completed and handed over to the Port of Turku on 15 June 2026.
The berth is intended for modern passenger ferry traffic and is scheduled to enter operational use in March 2027, when Tallink Silja Line is expected to begin using the new structure.
Existing ferry operations continue during the redevelopment.
Current terminals during construction
Tallink Silja Line and Viking Line continue to use the existing passenger harbour facilities while Ferry Terminal Turku is being built.
The redevelopment is taking place in stages so that daily passenger and freight ferry operations can continue.
Passengers should follow their operator’s current check-in and terminal instructions because access arrangements may change as construction progresses.
Passenger and vehicle access
The principal ferries from Turku accept both foot passengers and vehicles.
Cars, motorcycles and other permitted vehicles can be booked, and commercial freight is also an important part of the Turku-Stockholm corridor.
The Port of Turku currently classifies the route as passenger, car and ro-ro ferry traffic.
Freight traffic
Turku is not only a passenger ferry port.
The ferry corridor with Sweden also carries substantial commercial freight, while other ro-ro and cargo services connect Turku with additional European ports.
