Hybrid-electric conversion
Wenatchee was the first Jumbo Mark II converted to hybrid-electric propulsion under the Washington State Ferries electrification programme, work carried out by Vigor.
It rejoined the fleet in July 2025. Trade press reported three service interruptions in the months that followed, including a November 2025 stoppage caused by a fault in an engine overspeed protection circuit that was fixed the same evening.
